Two more people are now in custody related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.
A 24-year-old man, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.
These detentions follow a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.
A toddler aged three was one of the injured in the event. Five people went to hospital for treatment and have since been released.
Police arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.
Authorities were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of individuals injured by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.
The assault - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
